UNDERTOW presents:

UNDERTOW BOXES: Print Culture in Fragments

UNDERTOW BOXES is a limited-edition series of handmade wooden containers designed to house fragments of queer print culture—zines, photographs, matchbooks, flyers, and other ephemera of desire and survival. Inspired by hidden storage spaces—dresser drawers, secret stashes, private keepsakes—these boxes function as portable archives of intimacy and preservation.

Each box is both sculpture and vessel: a space for holding what is often erased, discarded, or overlooked. UNDERTOW BOXES honors the domestic and the secret as sites of queer memory, transforming acts of concealment into gestures of care. Designed for both personal collection and public exhibition, the project extends UNDERTOW’s mission to preserve and expand the material traces of queer visual culture.
