­­UNDERTOW is an artist-run press supporting queer artists’ printed matter and ephemera. Working at the intersection of queer culture, print, and advocacy, UNDERTOW collaborates with artists to produce zines, editions, and ephemera. Founded in 2024 by Nathan Storey, UNDERTOW is a platform for historically underrepresented visual artists who explore, cultivate, and expand queer print culture.

UNDERTOW has a workshop in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Boulder, Colorado.

UNDERTOW is the first and only arts organization in Colorado dedicated entirely to queer visual culture. UNDERTOW supports LGBTQ+ artists through publishing, exhibitions, workshops, and community programming that centers queer histories, desires, and futures.

UNDERTOW NOTEBOOK invites artists, writers, academics, and activists to engage in interdisciplinary discourse aimed at a deeper collective understanding of the role that print media plays in shaping queer subjectivity, community, and liberation.

UNDERTOW projects have been supported by UC San Diego, The Andy Warhol Foundation For the Visual Arts INSITE Fund, Queer|Art, Union Hall Denver, Space_Space Gallery, Los Angeles Printed Matter, Taller California, The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, and Rocky Mountain Equality.
