Borrowing its name from a line in Samuel R. Delany’s Times Square Red, Times Square Blue, FOR MINUTES OR FOR HOURS reflects on the nature of fleeting intimacy—those brief yet meaningful encounters that mark you, linger in memory, and shape the way we move through the world. Delany writes, “Intimacy for most of us is a condition that endures—however often repeated—for minutes or for hours,” offering a powerful reframing of connection not as defined by permanence, but by presence, ephemerality, and mutual recognition.
This booth brings together works by queer contemporary artists with ties to Colorado, including limited edition prints, zines, ephemera, jewelry, and small-scale artworks. The project honors the ephemeral and the everyday—objects that carry personal and collective memory, that circulate touch, desire, and care.
In a time of growing erasure and political hostility toward queer lives, FOR MINUTES OR FOR HOURS: QUEER ART COLORADO asserts that even the briefest encounters can be sites of solidarity, resilience, and belonging.
